Project 52: Would You Rather?

This past Friday, we took a jaunt across the state to pick up our things that have been stored in our wonderful neighbor's house for the past year.  Yes, it has actually been a year since we left Port Huron and now, all our junk is back together, well, at least the junk we decided to keep.  I was tired, even though all I had done all day was ride in the truck, talk with a wonderful woman, and eat delicious Chinese food.  Needless to say, I did not have my most creative night of date.  This seems to be a theme for me.  I need to get off my tuckus and get to work on this whole date thing! 
This is what we ended up doing.  Joel went and got us some frozen coffee drinks from McDonald's which sadly to say are just as good as Starbucks. (That's sad because Starbucks is in the coffee business and McDonald's is supposed to be in the burger business. But it appears that neither of them do their job well. I did read once however that they are both just in the real estate business, meaning it's not their product but their location that draws people into their establishments.  I'm inclined to believe that.)
We played Would You Rather from Simply Modern Mom.  It was a fun night.  The best one was actually an impromptu response to a scenario that Joel pulled "jump out of a fast moving bus" and I said in response "spend a day stuck in a bus with Keanu Reeves"  HA!  If you haven't seen the movie, don't!

I'm off, I have a little girl with a headache that threw up last night and a cat that appears to be suffering from intestinal issues.  Currently, he's laying in the shower and she is laying in my bed.  It should be a fun day.

Reserve 2 tbsp for garnish. Press mixture onto bottom and sides of a greased 9-inch springform pan. Chill in the freezer while preparing the filling. Mix cream cheese and sugar until smooth and light. Beat in eggs, vanilla, and cornstarch until just blended. S

Tasty Tuesday: Roasted Broccoli

I ran across this recipe on Pinterest the other day that was labeled " The Best Broccoli Of Your Life. " I normally either steam our broccoli in the microwave or saute it with olive oil and red pepper flakes on the stove top. I decided this would be something to try. I did the salt, pepper and olive oil part of the recipe. I didn't have the majority of the other ingredients. In fact, all I had was a little bit of Parmesan  It was wonderful. Not the best broccoli of my life, but honestly, it was pretty close. And if I had the lemon juice and all that jazz, it may very well be the best. What have you been eating lately?

Sweet Caroline by Kelda Poynot

  First off, my copy of Sweet Caroline  (aff link) is not a gifted review book, I spent my well earned Amazon No-Rush Rewards money on this book. Second of all, this is not my standard close door kind of romance. Third of all, this is a really fun read. Caroline is a hard working young lady that is doing all that she can to make ends meet and to get her graduate degree. Part of that work is renting out the room above her garage. When she answers the phone of an unknown number, believing it's a future tenant, she has no idea how much her life is about to change.  The young man on the other end of that call, Hashim, is tall, dark, and mysterious in all the right ways. The story quickly moves from the girl next door falling for a stranger to a fight for their lives.
