Eat Pray Love

Or is it Love Pray Eat?  I don't remember.  Last night I went out with a few friends and we watched the Julia Roberts movie based on the book.  I did not like the book, couldn't stand to read about her love affair with this guy that she basically ran to when she no longer wanted to be married.  Luckily, the movie didn't really get into all of that, in fact, the movie focused more on the journey that she took to discover herself.  I told Joel that the movie was like Darjeeling Limited for ladies, though I am a little more partial to the guys from Darjeeling than I am to the cast of Eat Love Pray. 
The scenery was beautiful and I was thankful to see escape into it for almost two hours.  The story line took a bit of a second show in regards to the countries that were explored, and that could just be my viewing.  I was struck by the desire to travel and to write about the places I go and was haunted by Nate in the stories I have started about him and his life.  I think maybe in some way, I have not been blogging because he desires the attention that he needs and instead of giving it to him, I have been ignoring writing all together.  Shame on me.  I hope to do some writing with the rest of my summer.

Here's the important part about this post and why it's here on HoHa instead of some random other blog that I could have created.  Part of cultivating the home arts is being with people.  Home's do not exist in a vacuum, they exist in a community.  Cultivate friendships and love your friends and family. And don't forget to Pray Eat Love

    The best part of the movie was seeing it with friends and talking about it afterwards!

    That is so true! Looking forward to doing it again. AND I have coupons for AMC (7.50 for movie tickets) and I can probably scrounge up some coupons for restaurants, too :D Hope you have a wonderful few weeks before school starts, feel free to call!

Reserve 2 tbsp for garnish. Press mixture onto bottom and sides of a greased 9-inch springform pan. Chill in the freezer while preparing the filling. Mix cream cheese and sugar until smooth and light. Beat in eggs, vanilla, and cornstarch until just blended. S

Tasty Tuesday: Roasted Broccoli

I ran across this recipe on Pinterest the other day that was labeled " The Best Broccoli Of Your Life. " I normally either steam our broccoli in the microwave or saute it with olive oil and red pepper flakes on the stove top. I decided this would be something to try. I did the salt, pepper and olive oil part of the recipe. I didn't have the majority of the other ingredients. In fact, all I had was a little bit of Parmesan  It was wonderful. Not the best broccoli of my life, but honestly, it was pretty close. And if I had the lemon juice and all that jazz, it may very well be the best. What have you been eating lately?

Sweet Caroline by Kelda Poynot

  First off, my copy of Sweet Caroline  (aff link) is not a gifted review book, I spent my well earned Amazon No-Rush Rewards money on this book. Second of all, this is not my standard close door kind of romance. Third of all, this is a really fun read. Caroline is a hard working young lady that is doing all that she can to make ends meet and to get her graduate degree. Part of that work is renting out the room above her garage. When she answers the phone of an unknown number, believing it's a future tenant, she has no idea how much her life is about to change.  The young man on the other end of that call, Hashim, is tall, dark, and mysterious in all the right ways. The story quickly moves from the girl next door falling for a stranger to a fight for their lives.
