LASB Bible Study 2 Corinthians

2 Corinthians (Life Application Bible Studies: NLT)The Life Application Study Bible (LASB) Bible Study of 2 Corinthians is a 13-lesson study “to help us stay loyal to Christ.” I really enjoyed having the entirety of the LASB’s 2 Corinthians text with study notes right in the study. It meant that I never had to go searching for a Bible when I wanted to read through a lesson. This feature will also make it helpful series for seekers who may not own a Bible and are not in a place to invest in a study Bible quite yet.

The instructions on use are very helpful and the time line is sufficient for a class setting. The first lesson was excellent, where as the second was lacking in depth, which was surprising. The different areas of study for each chapter are well thought out and should lead to a deeper understanding of 2 Corinthians. I would recommend this study to groups of new believers, but would hold off of using it with those who are well versed in scripture as it is a bit repetitive in spots.

The book is well laid out and easy to maneuver through. And the notes in the study bible portion are excellent.

Stories from the Kitchen: Taste and See

I celebrated my birthday last weekend. It was wonderful and the leftovers left me with a question or two. Find out what they are and how I'm currently answering them in this week's podcast. Stories from the Kitchen Season 2, Episode 2: Taste and See Notes from the episode: Taste and See by Margaret Feinberg Dad’s New York Cheesecake (from the back of a Philidelphia Cream Cheese package) 1 ⅞ cups graham cracker crumbs ¼ to ½ cup butter, melted 1 cup sugar, divided 2 lbs cream cheese (4 packs) 2 large eggs (lightly beaten) 1 tsp vanilla 2 tbsp cornstarch 1 cup sour cream Preheat oven to 450F Mix well graham crackers, 2 tbsp sugar, and enough butter that the mixture holds together. Project 52: Shiver me dufuses

This date I pulled out a puzzle that I had bought for Joel years ago.  I put up a little camp table , and even devised a system to keep the pieces in place with some fabric, so we could roll it up and stow it.  I was all ready to go and then the reality of the puzzle set in and I realised, I don't like puzzles.  I was already frustrated and worn out by the darn thing and we were only a mere few minutes into working on it!  Instead of getting upset, we changed plans. The puzzle was abandoned and Joel went out for a shamrock shake from McD's and two cherry pies.  We played some MadLibs .  The one we bought for Hannah today was Pirate themed and the story that was the funniest included a peg elbow and a pet pencil sitting on your shoulder saying "Shiver me dufuses!" We even had a joke book that we'd picked up for Hannah and read a couple of terrible jokes to one another while shuffling cards for cribbage. A fun night full of laughter and green shakes.  Well, I&#

Our Daily Question from Ink & Willow

Did you ever have a book that you love so much because it's just right? That's Our Daily Question for me. It's a three-year journal to share with your significant other. How does that work? Well, each calendar date has a question and divided space to record your answer three times.  There is a great mix of fun, serious, thought-provoking, and heartfelt questions. Generally, the only ones that we've skipped over have been the ones that talk about all the time. It's been nice to be able to pick it up with morning coffee and have a conversation ready to go. Some we've even used at the dinner table to have family discussions.  It's a wonderful little keepsake, one that will have much more value when you finish with it than when you start. If you're looking for a special gift to give a newly married couple, yourself, or even a pair of love birds that have been married for over 20 years, this is a great choice.  I received a copy of this book from Ink & W
